Captain for hire, which can include:
Sailing Instruction
Power Boat operation (docking, anchoring and getting underway)
Navigation
Maintenance and safety.
Rates are estimated and negotiated in advance and set out in a written delivery contract. A twenty-five percent (25%) deposit plus estimated expenses is required upon confirmation of the trip. All expenses, including but not limited to customs, maintenance, fuel, oil, water, and airfare(s) to or from the vessel. The balance of all fees and charges are due upon delivery of the vessel.
Captains rate:
$250.00 per day offshore (24 hr. sailing day)
$300.00 per day for day sailing and 1st day offshore
$100.00 per day for unscheduled delay or maintenance days.
First Mate rate:
$175.00 per day offshore (24 hr. sailing day)
$150.00 per day for day sailing.
$75.00 per day for unscheduled delay or maintenance days.
Rates are negotiable.
One crew member is required for trips exceeding 600 km as mandated by the US Coast Guard.
Total trip cost can be estimated by calculating the distance and using 140 km per day average for off shore and 65 km per day for inter coastal and day sailing and adding the cost of airfare(s), customs, duties, and any known maintenance.
It is assumed that the vessel will be in sea worthy condition upon my arrival and adequately equipped for the voyage. I will inspect the vessel prior to my departure. Any condition deemed dangerous or hazardous to the successful completion of the trip must be corrected prior to departure.
Owner shall provide evidence of hull and liability insurance valid for the duration of the trip and valid for the entire area I will navigate to deliver your vessel.
Upon request a copy of my Captains license can be provided to you or your insurance carrier.
